Blackberry Caipifruta


Caipifruta is a Caipirinha with any fruit replaced for the lime. The drink isn’t typically made with basil, but I had it that way and it was so delicious.
 

Blackberry Caipifruta
  • Rocks glass
  • 8 Blackberries
  • 2 oz Cachaca (Brazilian Rum)
  • sugar to taste
  • 4 basil leaves, optional
  • crushed ice
Place the blackberries and basil into a glass and sprinkle with sugar. Muddle until blackberries are juicy and fragrant. Fill with ice and pour in Cachaca and stir.

Caipirinha


The Caipirinha is the national cocktail of Brazil.
 

Caipirinha (kai-pee-reen-ya)
  • Rocks glass
  • 1 lime, rolled to loosen juices
  • 2 ounces of Cachaca (Brazilian Rum)
  • sugar to taste
  • crushed ice
Cut the rolled lime into 8 pieces place in glass and sprinkle with sugar. Muddle until juices are released and add ice. Pour in Cachaca and stir.

Almond Cherry Chocolate


This chocolate is so fantastic. Cherries and chocolate are a winning combo. throw in the almonds and wow.
 

Almond Cherry Chocolate
 
Here are the Ingredients:
  • 3/4 cup whole almonds
  • 12 oz dark chocolate
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup dried tart cherries, chopped
  • parchment paper
Preheat oven to 350
 
Line baking sheet with parchment paper and toast almonds until fragrant and golden, around 8 minutes. Let cool completely and set aside. If you don’t own a double boiler fill a saucepan with water and bring to a simmer. Set a large aluminum bowl on top of the saucepan, making sure the water doesn’t touch the bottom of the bowl. Place chocolate in the bowl and stir until melted and smooth. Stir in the vanilla extract, almonds, and cherries. Spread the mixture on the parchment paper into an even layer around 1/4 inch thick. Refrigerate until firm and break into pieces.

Pistachio Brittle


Peanut brittle doesn’t hold a candle to pistachio brittle. You have to try this and potassium can lower levels of the stress not to mention conquer your sweet craving.

Pistachio Brittle
 
Here are the Ingredients:
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 cup dry-roasted shelled unsalted pistachios
  • parchment paper
  • vegetable oil cooking spray
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly coat with cooking spray. In a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, bring sugar, corn syrup, water and butter to a simmer; cook stirring often, until the mixture is a medium caramel color, around 12 to 15 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in baking soda (the mixture will foam), salt, vanilla extract, and pistachios. Pour onto baking sheet and spread into an even layer. Cool completely and break into pieces. Enjoy.
