Marinara Sauce


Marinara sauce goes with so many different dishes. Meatball subs, spaghetti, appetizers like fried cheese to name a few.
 

Marinara Sauce
 
Here are the Ingredients:
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 2 bell peppers (red or yellow) cut into 1-inch chunks
  • 3 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 5 vine ripened tomatoes , seeded and cut into 1-inch chunks
  • 2 14.5 oz cans fire-roasted tomatoes, drained
  • 1 29 oz can tomato sauce
  • 1 14.5 oz can tomato sauce
  • 1 6 oz can tomato paste
  • 1/4 cup red wine, Cabernet
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
  • Pinch of crushed red peppers
Heat oil in a pot over medium high heat. Add peppers and onions and cook for 8 minutes or until tender. Add garlic and cook an additional 2 minutes. Add ripe tomatoes and remainder of ingredients and stir. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to a simmer and cook for 20 minutes.
